Wind Problems . . . .

On about my fifth or sixth run of week two - hubby hasn't been able to get off week 1 at the moment due to dodgy ankles and knees so I am just keeping on with week 2 until he is able to catch up - true love ;-)

Anyway, did our last run on Saturday - next run was due Monday. . . . now I don't mind running in the cold, or the snow but put my foot down at the wind we had at the beginning of the week (meteorology speaking). Running out in the countryside in gale force winds with a wind chill that would freeze the balls of a snow-monkey is just not my kind of fun. In fact after taking the kids to school, I was so cold that I went back to bed!!!!!! Tuesday the wind continued down here in Kent and to make matters worse we missed all the snow - gutted!!!!!!

Anyway, today we braved the cold - our wind problems had disappeared and my hubby learnt how going slow keeps you going longer ;-)

Have a great day everyone.

Well done both of you, it must be tough starting out in this weather (I did it in summertime & found it challenging enough as it was). I have come to the conclusion that the best thing about running into the wind is when you turn around and it's behind you... :-)

good on you both for braving the wind - it does take it out of you!

(am i the only one that wants to go "pharrrp" when I see wind on here?? I may have to incorporate that in to one of my blogs..... ;-) )

best of luck for the next run

Yep know what you mean; I'm in the South East too and though I now tend to view running in the wind as resistance training (I still dont like it mind :( ) the last two days have been impossible to run in with it being so biting cold too...... I think that is the first time the weather has actually defeated me on my scheduled running day!

The sun is shining now though so I will give it a go tonight even though the sun will have set by then but it puts me in the right mood for it ;)

Glad you both managed to get out today though; onwards and upwards!

Well done! We live in one of the windiest areas of the USA. I dread the wind but I echo what the others say about resistance training! ;-) Since running, I have a new respect for hills and wind. :-) Gayle
