Exposed skin No wind Parkrun PB

The nice man who sets up our park run always puts weather / running conditions on Facebook So this morning I read 11deg and NO wind Goodness there is always wind /breeze/gale on our seafront As I get really warm running thought this is time to try out new 3/4 running tights and short sleeve top I bought this week . So first time bare legs have been exposed to public in I don't know how many years As for the arms !!! Well ladies of a certain age will know what I mean when I say underarms at the top are not always our best bits However due to weight loss I have noticed that as well as being a bit droopy they are a bit more wrinkly than previously So off I go over the start line feeling good and then looked down at my arms -- oh my goodness They looked like they were in those warm air hand driers Bits undulated all over the place Help what if someone sees them -- the embarrassment ! Then I thought wait a minute here --nobody will care what I look like and I bet nobody will ever notice . I just felt I was flying along and loved feeling of air on arms and legs And got PB of 33.13 Which means my age grading has increased by 9% since first Parkrun in Nov What a morning

Well done fitfor60 thats a great time! :) I did park run again today -34.21 not my best but strangely it felt better than last week, legs were easier anyway :) .I'm sure that you looked fine :) , and you're right at Parkrun and everyday running, we've got to feel proud of ourselves for getting out there and try not not be TOO self conscious!! not always easy though, but i think it gets easier as time passes. i need to get some better undies so i don't have such a VPL!! :(

Thanks aliboo It's strange isn't it how one park run you feel great but time not as fast as you thought and another day faster but no rhyme nor reason why. I always say the time doesn't matter but when i get the txt with result feel excited to see if it's new PB But am learning it's ok whatever the time as have realised if you kept getting PB every week the day would come when you'd be finished before you started !!!! Good luck in finding the perfect undie

Thanks rockette Had on new aldi purple running jacket with really bright zip but only for warm up as I get too hot . All my day clothes are boring black / white/black so loving bright running gear. You look after that tendon and don't do too much too soon You'll soon be back at park run

Edinburgh -- completely flat and on prom by sea Beautiful but really windy And somehow if you wind in your face on way out you STILL get in face on way back ! Where is yours

You made me laugh, Fitfor60! I know that upper arm image only too well!! But like you say, nobody else cares, and we shouldn't either! Fantastic result today, well done - you must be delighted!

You have to laugh cheery I've been yo yo dieter for years and I think this time when I lost weight the old skin had had just enough of going out and in and gave up But hey there are worst things in life

Yay for bingo wings! My 15 year old daughter gets hysterics when mine go flapping about!

Well done on the run and the PB!

Now I never thought of that

Well done on your most recent park run. I'm sure you look a lot better than onlookers who merely crawl off their couch just to gawp! A lovely positive post reminding us all of the freedom that running brings. Best wishes.
