Was back at the docs today to get heart rate check up after change of tablets, he's not happy with me!! Resting pulse was 89 which is rather fast and BP up too. Statins now reduced to see if that helps. Old ticker does kick into overdrive now and again but thats due to irregular heart beat. Asked if it was alright to keep on with the exercise and running and he's says its OK but not to over do things. So tomorrow I'll do my 1/2M and Saturday a 10K and leave the 5K until Sunday Only thing is I won't have time for my HIIT training and testing my lovely new Vivibarefoot running shoes. (Only joking about the 1/2M & 10K runs).
Had a walk to Zumba in my new shoes this afternoon though, they seem to be quite comfortable, will try them on the dreadmill (renamed) tomorrow if I've got time.

Sorry to hear your tablets are causing problems, shame it wasn't a Garmin error. Looking forward to finding out how you get on with the Vivibarefoot shoes.
Haha, see you at the 1/2M or maybe at HIIT the night before, if the heart stays in rhythm. I don't like it when the arrhythmia docs (electrophysiologists) say "don't overdo it"! What on earth is that supposed to mean? This running is not easy ever, it seems, and it is effort, especially on the nasty medication that slows the heart's ability to pump. I have chosen to wear a heart rate monitor that uploads to the computer and take printouts to them and ask if that's what they have in mind for "not overdoing it." They usually laugh.
Have you checked your resting pulse before getting out of bed in the am and checked your blood pressure outside of the clinic? "White coat syndrome" (anxiety or concern while in clinic about what the numbers will be) is a very common cause of a slightly high "resting" pulse and a slight increase in the systolic blood pressure (top number.)
Hi Genome, yep have checked both resting pulse and BP at home. I have a smashing doctor and he always chats for about 5 minutes before he starts taking readings, he then does them again once he's updated records etc. Since changing my tablets the heart rate is much faster, I'm hoping it will still settle down some more. He can up the dosage again if not. Long term looks as if a pace maker will be fitted but thats many years down the line (I hope). In the meantime I will run outside, do my exercise classes as before and attack the dreadmill once or twice a week. This old girl aint ready to hang up her running gear for many years yet.
Well I know you will really appreciate your road time. Seems like when it's threatened in some way, we get to appreciate it even more! Hope you keep it up forever. You are such an inspiration.
I had the pleasure of trying new migraine tablets today that kept me in bed or by the toilet all afternoon, I don't know what was worse! One of those things! They always say they've more to try too lol
I hope you can find a balance and 'take it easy' enough to keep everyone happy
