Is it ok to just keep doing a circuit of the local park or should it be a street run

I have never run before so not sure how run properly, so for me the park might be a good start. If I go in the morning at least not too many people will see me

That's exactly what I did before the longer runs started and that's when I hit the roads.

Well done on starting; that's the hardest bit!

Hi alcopop I do all my runs in the local park, there's no parked cars or wheelie bins. I found it much better, I always go early . Tried the the treadmill and don't like being indoors and found it very boring. On my holiday I ran along the beach with the sea breeze it was wonderful. Good luck with the program and enjoy :-) Pat

Traffic free every time !

This may sound silly, but: I do my runs in the local park and do change from clockwise to counter clockwise and vice versa half way through my run. It may be me and my slightly dodgy knees, but it feels like you are putting unduly strain on just one knee if you are constantly running in a circle!

Thank you for the answers all, I started today and alternated the way I ran round the park and used grass and the path. Felt good to get going.
