Setting off again...

Well, I've had 3 weeks off with my shin splints now and have no pain at the moment. I had completed W3R1 3 weeks ago today, but think I am going to start at the beginning of W2 again to ease my shins back into it. What do people think? I know I could easily manage to continue where I left off stamina wise and it is tempting (plus I keep thinking that I should now be at W6!), but my shins really are another matter and I know I would be wise to be cautious with them.

So my new running shoes will be making their debut later on and I will be sticking to the grass this time around.

Hope it will all be good news later on!

I'm no expert but I'd recommend taking it easy on yourself to avoid any further injuries. I had 8 weeks off with an ankle injury and went back to week 1. It feels as if I could do more in terms of stamina, but I want to give my ankle time to get used to running again and I know I don't want another set back. If you do week 2 and can cope it will be a real confidence boost.

Thanks Tessietwo. I just completed W2R1, but did have a slight twinge in my left shin so I'll see how it feels over the next couple of days and decide what to do from there. Hope it is going ok for you - so frustrating having to stop for an injury isn't it!
