Week 8 podcast deleted! 3 runs left...

I really can't believe I've made it to week 9! It's ridiculous! Me? A runner? Surely not?

I completed week 8 run 3 yesterday, as I am trying to squeeze in the last few runs so I graduate Christmas Eve. I think I'm addicted to the treadmill!

Me and a friend went to our local gym and found that it was being refurbished but they had made a makeshift gym in one of the studios. I thought 'all I need is a treadmill, please let there be one!'.... There wasn't! After much deliberation over whether to run outside we decided to go to another gym a bit further away where we could still use our membership. This was all well and good but I'd got used to our gym and this gym had different people and a different layout. I felt a little nit out of my comfort zone. Also having my friend with me made me feel under pressure as she would be watching every move (she is much, much fitter than me!).

So I upped my pace and started on 8.5kmph for the first 3 mins but I didn't feel like I was pushing it enough, so up it went to 8.8kmph. I managed a good 20 mins at this pace but went back down to 8.5kmph for the last 3 mins. With my warm up and cool down walks I covered 5.2km! The first time I have covered anything over 5k.

Now the week 8 podcast is deleted there is no going back, week 9 is here and graduation looms. I'd love to hit 5k by the final run but i doubt I will get there. All I can say is that I have thoroughly enjoyed the ups and downs c25k has given me. I'm fitter and healthier because of it and I'd like to thank all of you in the community for inspiring me to go on.

This is fantastic, Lazy Moo! You did well considering you were out your comfort zone re gym problems. It is amazing how inspiring the blogs are - if I'm due a run but wavering I come on here and, more often than not, I get the trainers on and off I go. Tonight, for ex, it's pouring with rain and pitch dark but I read Beads blog, 'It's raining', and within 20 mins I was out there splashing through puddles and actually enjoying myself! Shiny green badge from Santa? The best pressie ever! :)
