After several weeks of putting off W1R1 and just going for brisk walks instead (to check out possible routes of course), I finally did my first run on Wednesday evening. Except, having bought a pair of decent running shoes and taken my kit to London (I was there with work, staying in a hotel) I never got as far as putting it on. I just stepped out of the office door, put the podcast on and started, compete with suit and waterproof. I might of got some strange looks from passing motorists, but thankfully I couldn't see them and there weren't many pedestrians. Anyway, my 1 mile walk back to the hotel became a 2 1/2 mile walk / jog and I survived it - thankfully it was freezing so I didn't overheat in the slightly inappropriate clothing. So much for all the worrying about whether I could do it or not - just get on with it !
Just completed W1R2 round the local park (with 'proper' clothing) and feeling pretty good, even managed to extend the last 60 second run to 2 minutes (wanted to get home before I'd missed too much of the cricket
