Ok, just completed R2 on week 3 and my legs from my knees down feel as if they are going to fall off.
I do Mon/Wed/Fri, and monday morning I knew I would be in trouble but carried on, and sure enough by the time i finished it hurt. They calmed down a bit so i thought I would be ok but now an hour later from getting back it is still uncomfortable.
On weeks 1 and 2 i tried to really pick up the pace on the running segments bt so far on week 3 it is only a gentle jog.
Is it shin splints, or are my knees shot to pieces as that is what it feels like!
By the way, it was very cold next to the Thames this morning!

I get really sore legs especially my calves, I think it is just the shock of running. About wk 3 my shins were really sore and I did get new trainers and that did help abit, but my legs do still hurt when I run. I tend to use a hot water bottle on them (ice is meant to be better but it is too cold for that) and if they are really sore then I rest for 3 or 4 days. They have got alot better but have now joined a running club and have been told that the legs of a runner always hurt! Maybe you should take a few extra days rest and see how your legs feel, also make sure you stretch after your run as this really does help.
I got shin splints a a couple of weeks ago. Spent far more money than I should have on some very cushioned trainers and they have slowly improved to the point where the pain is negligible. I am however just plain stubborn and refused to let a bit of pain get in my way!!
