W4R1. Done :-)

Well I followed the advice posted by various bloggers on this site (as well as Laura) and focused on using a slow jog rather than worrying about my pace. With an end result of - yippee I did it!!!

As others have said, weeks ago I felt chuffed just by being able to run/jog for 60 seconds but now I can do 5 minutes. OK, there was a couple of sections where my jogging pace was almost the same as my walking pace but I kept up the running action which apparently important for training your muscles. Also it would have taken me 45 minutes to complete 5k but do you know what: I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Oh, and I got soaked but even that feels great. Have a good run everyone.

WOW well done !! I'm still struggling with 3 minutes so the thought of 5 is real scary.

You're at the same stage as me and it seems that we are having very similar experiences. I too feel that I can see light at the end of the tunnel and that maybe this thing is actually achievable after all. :-)
