Pitter Patter......

I wish it was the pitter patter of me in my running shoes but I'm still injured :(

It turns out there's a baby on the way!

Now I've not run for nearly two weeks and am unsure as to when I can start again....now this wonderful news has got me worried that I may not be able to return to running at all until after he/she graces us with his/her presence!?

Id only managed to get to W4R3 before I had to stop due to injury, it was long enough for me to get the bug though! I've read that you can continue running during pregnancy if you're already a runner...I'm not sure 4 weeks makes me a runner...plus I don't know how much longer I'll have to wait until I can run again anyway.....any advice on this would be lovely...

I can't help I'm afraid, except that I know the woman who was pregnant in the film Sex in then City kept running!! I really think you need to ask the Doctor. And congratulations :) :)

I thought about that too!! She made it look quite effortless too!

I will be seeing the doctor on Tues so hoping she will say yes injury dependent of course!

Thanks for the congrats! :)

Congrats ma'am that's lovely.

there was an article in Runners World a couple of months ago about someone who ran the Marathon des Sables (a desert ultra) whilst pregnant so its obviously not a complete no no but its down to your own circumstances i guess? I am with TJ prob best check it out with the doc but once they are out and about loads still run, looks like a great fancy kit buying retail opportunity =D. Loads of prams designed for this! I see them down at the local ParkRun from time to time - very impressive.

Wow!! Many congratulations to you Becks - a C25K baby!! I wonder if ther have have been any others?

I know you can run whilst pregnant but obviously you will need to take it easier but yes, get your docs advice.

I agree with Greg too, shopping for a baby jogger, could be great fun indeed!! Take care of yourself. Sue x

Wow! Congratulations! That's very exciting news for you! I have no advice unfortunately, just wanted to say congrats, but would just echo what others say and see what the doc says :)

That's lovely news, becksbinks! Congratulations! Take care whatever you decide about the running! If you are going to keep going why don't you start back at, say, week 2 and build up slowly again taking extra rest days if you need them. Best wishes! :)

Congrats. Will your running dictate your buggy choice? If you do carry on running, have a google for "bump supports" ...Running was still a 'four-letter word' when I was pregnant but I did do quite a lot of swimming ... gentler on your joints.

My congratulations are joining everyone else's here :) I'm with KANdoit, when I was expecting I'd not heard of running since I was at school and didn't have a choice, mind you, in those days I didn't have a car so did lots and lots of walking :)

Aw, lovely, a baby :-)

Congratulations and don't worry - whether or not you can/choose to/want to run while you're expecting, there'll be loads of time afterwards for you to take it up again and a baby is WAY better than completing W5 or whatever! Enjoy!
