Been signed off work for 2 weeks with stress, and stress related had aches. However, the good news is that exercise is good. So when told doctor I had recently started running, she said "that was good, give it a couple of days for the headaches to clear and then take it steady....." so plan to get out as soon as I feel up to it, and will not be stuck to running before or after work. Also knee is improving every day, so another reason to hold off for a couple of days before starting on wk9. I will graduate this month!
What the doctor orders...: Been signed off work... - Couch to 5K
What the doctor orders...
Sorry to hear this Caro but at least you are looking on the positive side - more running opportunities without work constraints!!
I will be graduating next week too, all being well, so should be a good week for celebrating - cant wait!
Hope your next run goes well. Sue x
Thanks Sue. Have a treadmill at home, so can run whenever I like, and don't even have to worry about the weather! Think I will give it until Friday before I attempt the run, then rest over the weekend, and see how I feel on Monday, and then hope to graduate next Wednesday or Thursday.
Sorry to hear that you've been signed off, Caro. But I'm glad that you can still run I do hope you graduate this month!!
Hope you are feeling better soon and that the running helps. I've got a few weeks til graduation, good luck with yours.
sorry to hear that you are stressed, sounds like you have a good plan to manage it though. I read somewhere recently that running helps prevent the onset of a migraine (or that there is some research going on currently with that hypothesis, can't remember). I hope so!
Enjoy your running on Friday
If you run outside, I reckon that with double the benefits (yes, even in the rain!)
Hi Caro, I've been exactly same, headaches for 3 months! GP gave me antidepressants as a 'double whammy' for headaches and stress. Decided not to take them though and instead got myself St Johns Wort and feverfew tablets. On week 7 run 3 and I really do think its the running that's having the biggest effect, all that fresh air! But think the tablets are helping too. May all be in my mind but I don't care! Stress is horrible on our bodies so keep on running and be kind to yourself and I'll try to practise what I preach!
Del x
Been on low dose anti-d's for head ache about two years. Can go several months fine and then have one headache after another. Ran this morning on treadmill and head now beginning to throb again, so going to try loads of water today, to ensure well hydrated. Being at home, I can try different things easier.
