1. My fantastic trainers (Salomon, I love them, worth every penny)
2. My Aldi socks (superfantastic at the price)
3. Ipod and Laura/music
4. No rain
5. An old ring which I move from finger to finger as I do my laps round the woods because if I don't do this I lose count... suppose I could tell by the music but I like to be sure... it has to be an old ring in case I drop it when it's on a finger it doesn't fit, wouldn't do to lose Granny's diamonds...
I'm looking forward to having a Garmin - ordered it from our village (small) sports shop (good to support the local businesses plus my low-tech brain might be glad to have a local to help with the watch...) - the down side is it's taking forever to come...
1. Shock Absorber "over the shoulder boulder holder", keeps the GGs in good order.
2. Good shoes (have a variety now, am so happy since I took up running, I have another excuse to buy more pairs of shoes :-). But I do draw the line at matching handbags for every pair of trainers lol.
3 Good socks (double skin usually More Miles)
4 Garmin (but now and again it stays at home for me just to run for fun)
5 Boy the Bedlington Terror for company/added adrenaline when I have to suddenly sprint to head him off before he gets into a field of sheep.
oh sorry, somewhere between the socks and the Garmin I would have to put my Ronhill peaked cap as it nearly always rains here and the peak is essential to running in the rain!
1. My Brooks glycerine 10's. It's like slipping on duvets for each foot they are sooo comfy!
2. Ronhill running pants for men - not the skinny ones with stirrups, the other ones
3. Ipod touch with arm strap holder for podcasts
4. My Garmin although I hate how long it takes to find the satellite. Grrrrrr
5. Long sleeved black running top. I already have a large selection!
Even with all that I'm starting to feel the chill so it won't be long before I invest in a base layer or 4. I'm another who loves an excuse to shop for my running
I like all the answers but it's made me Google some of them & want to go shopping which my poor bank card can't take after my last running gear splurge!!
1. My lovely, comfortable (expensive) running shoes, bought from the local running shop with very helpful, friendly staff.
2. Technical clothing - including shirts, shorts capri pants (but not used yet. as still in shorts), socks and cap. I started off in cotton- t-shirts but started gradually buying running tops (all at sale prices) from about week 3.
3. mp3 player without which I wouldn't have done C25K and which now give me Laura going "1-2-3-4" beats for interval and tempo runs and cheesy rock tunes for my long, slow runs.
4. Small. simple running belt, just large enough to hold my basic mobile phone and a tissue.
5. my latest gadget - my brand new shiny Garmin so I can track my time and distance (I've been using a hand-me-down iphone for the past 3 weeks, but it's a bit of a faff.)
Got to week 9 with just my running shoes (kids size so only £25). Old trackie bottoms and cotton t shirts, Light fleece i had anyway for cold days (tied around my middle when I got too hot) and the tiny MP3 player I won in a raffle at my kids school (actually one of the kids won it but I nicked it). I count finishing c25k as a pretty good return on a £25 investment!
(Since then I have branched out into skapris, a C25K graduate t-shirt, some lovely gait analysed new shoes and fancy running socks that don't make any difference at all.)
I'd have to say my dog (plus lead and Muksak) and my iPhone since those are the things I've never run without. On the phone I have the Walk4Life app, C25K stuff and Audiofuel, and my graduation treat was 101 running songs.
I forget quite which order the other bits came in...
sports bra or running shoes (I love my minimalist shoes, I was in walking boots before and hadn't owned a pair of trainers for years),
Onyaback (very lightweight packaway backpack I put my keys in, and valuables if my usual bag is with me in the car)
Firm control knickers (not essentials since I don't always wear them but I think I need to buy more so that I do, last night's tummy wobble wasn't comfortable)
Cheap cotton leggings (which I had anyway but I bought more)
Long sleeved cotton or bamboo t shirt (not techno fabric - I am a bit mystified by that, I bought a graduate t shirt but I look appalling in it and find it rather sweaty)
I wear normal cotton or bamboo socks as my shoes are quite snug and I run in some filthy places so I don't want anything pale. Not wearing them, or wearing trainer liners has resulted in blisters or soreness.
