Best run of all

This was the last run of my 12th week, it took me 50 minutes to run 5 and a half k, was so pleased that I managed to run up a big hill. Is this too slow? I only have a pedometer that clips on my belt.

I don't think it sounds slow at all, I think it sounds outstanding! I have a ways to go to get to a 5K.

Your heading says it all "Best run of all" so if thats the case it wasn't too slow, it was good. Speed is not everything you can work on it as time goes by and with each faster logged run you can chalk it up to your new PB. Well done 5K well and truely in the bag :)

well done for the 5 1/2K, I wouldn't worry about speed (it doesn't sound particularly slow). As Oldgirl said, you can work on speed later and start chalking up PBs along the way.

From reading the blogs must new runners are worrried that they are not going fast enough, me included. But as per Mr Einstein, speed is relative! Everyone is at different levels of fitness and ability. You ran for 50 minutes and up a big hill, that's an amazing physical and mental achievement. Well done!

Well done that is a brilliant achievement, I am on the tortoise end of the speed spectrum myself but definitely starting to see an improvement after weeks of building up the distance on my longer weekly run, as long as we are getting out there and enjoying then we are the dogs doodahs! :-)

thankyou all for your comments, I'm not going to worry about my speed now. I'm just going to enjoy the running and see how it goes. my husband asked me today how long am I going to keep this up, I told him that I hopefully will still be running when I'm 80 lol, bless him.
