I did my first run in ages today, the stepping stone podcast, in order to ease myself back into this running game, came back feeling all smug and proud of my efforts (4.7k). I've loaded up the laptop, put my run on the PC only to find my last run was August!! I didn't realise it was that long ago, no wonder I found the run hard today.
The reason my running has taken a back seat is due to the, previously blogged about, ear infection and then a delicious holiday in the peak district. If anyone has ever had an ear infection they are awful and for me at least they take a long time to get over. The week I felt better I went on holiday which was lovely, no running involved but did do a 13 1/2 mile bike ride through the peak district and plenty of eating cream teas and relaxing in the jacuzzi. Who can blame me for not running lol!
So today's run was difficult and I was going to stop after 5 minutes but I persuaded myself to carry on a further 5 minutes, then another 5 etc until Laura said until 5 more to go so I just ran to the end. It was a beautiful crisp autumn morning and I'm so pleased I went out there and ran otherwise I would have missed the peace of the morning and the feel good endorphins that come after exercise. On the down side though it was blooming cold!!!!
Happy jogging folks
