I'm off out to join my local Jog Scotland training session. Nothing to it I hear some of you say, but for me its a big hurdle or two or three for that matter.

1. I can't run and speak at the same time

2. I always run in a morning not at this time of day/evening even, us older people are tucked up by the fireside by 7.00pm.

3. I'm not good at hills, been practising a bit lately though.

So if you never hear from me again you'll know I'm broken. If you do hear from me you'll know I survived to tell the story. Wish me luck ;)

Oh I forgot, I've always run with music, this will be the first time without, eeeeekkkkkk what have I let myself in for!?!

You'll be fine. I had the same issue when I joined the club and changed to running in the evening. Re talking just grunt or just be up front and say will only e able to say yes or no. I am still like that for the first half(well second half too) of the run. Let us know how you get on

Well done, I bet you will have a great time!

I avoided running with others especially "proper" runners for ages but the group I join to do speed work with on a Monday are fab, very friendly and all abilities catered for!

I know exactly how you feel Oldgirl, I can manage 'yes' and 'no'.I've been running later in the day but after only doing 3.2K today, I may start running early again. Hope it goes well, and hope there aren't too many hills!

Oh I'm with you Oldgirl - there's no way I could chat nonchalantly like some runners you see. There don't seem to be any running clubs around here so I don't have that worry! Look forward to hearing how it went, bet you have a great time!
