Is there a best time of the day to run?

I have been running in the morning, straight after getting up. It seems to suit me, except for the cooler air! Considering changing to evenings, and was wondering if the time of day makes a difference at all?

I think it is totally a personal preference, and even that may vary over time. Run whenever suits you best. :)

It's whatever suits you best. I prefer running early morning about 6.30am so that I've got the rest of the day to myself. The advantage of running in the morning, is if for some reason you can't make it, you've still got the rest of the day to fit it in. Whereas, if you're an evening runner if something crops up and you can't do your run, then you'll miss out! Try running at different times of the day and see what you prefer.

I've found morning runs a bit easier, but I'm not sure how I'll be when the weathers a bit colder. A morning run does put me on a bit of a high for the rest of the day though.

Caz, I like your thinking that if for some reason you can't do the morning, you have the rest of the day!

I've always considered myself a morning person but when I started this programme I was working quite early in the morning and so didn't have time to go out before work. So would run around 6 in the evening. I knew my hours were going to change at the beginning of September and I had every intention of moving my runs to first thing as soon as they did. When it came to it I came to find that I liked running after work, found myself looking forward to it on the commute home. The couple of times I've tried running in the morning I have found it hard, I don't know if it's coincidence and they would have been hard for me anyway but still I've come to be quite fond of my 6pm run. Ask me this question again when it's actually dark at 6pm!

The best time to run in the daytime should be at 3 a clock in the afternoon according to evidence-based information from Karolinska university. That is ehen the body is most active. You should have 3 hours after the meal before you run.
