Maybe this is a fairly basic question, but is there a "best" time to run? I know you shouldn't eat soon before running, you should leave around 90 minutes. I've generally been going in the mornings and either not eating, or eating a small snack, and drinking water. Does anyone have any thoughts on this, to make sure you have enough energy to run?
Best time to run: Maybe this is a fairly basic... - Couch to 5K
Best time to run
The "best" time to run is the time most suitable time for you geoh95, you are correct in saying that 60/90 minutes is best to run after any meal, during hot weather the early morning is certainly a better time than the heat later on, this morning I ran at 6.30 a 5K, that way I avoided the heat which became quite noticeable after 9 o'clock, there again if it was winter it might be better to run in the afternoon after any ice had melted.
I always find early morning pre breakfast runs the best, but I can only really manage that on weekends.
I asked the same question a few weeks back. The answer was unanimous: bananas!
I go about 9 in the evening at the moment because of the heat 😊
The best time is the best time for you along with fuelling. If you work and you can fit it in before work. Than the afternoon/evening maybe be best. But if need a snack before a run that ok. Some people like to run on an empty stomach. Everyone is different there’s no right or wrong answer.
Thank you all!
