On holiday and not managed to run once

Well a week has gone by and I haven't managed to run for various reasons/excuses. 1. Going to bed late so have been waking up too late to avoid the heat. 2. Definitely don't feel hydrated enough 3. IBS has been worse than ever due to the pasta and pizza. 4. The only route is a long a road and the Italians constantly drive like they are in a rush so safety is an issue.

The good thing is I am missing it and looking forward to getting back to it when home. Not sure whether to start with 20 minutes and work my way back up to 30 or just try 30 minutes. Do we lose much fitness in 2 weeks?

A scheduled training break is just what you need and while you are unlikely to lose much condition, you will almost definitely come back stronger.

When you get back, just see what you can do then build from there.

I agree - you will most likely be just fine to head out for your usual 30 and enjoy it all the more for the break!🙂

As others have said, enjoy your break and come back all the better for it. I will be going on holiday next week and plan on doing NO running. When I get back I will be recharged and keen to get back on it. I missed a two weeks a while ago due to a knee injury and my first run back was brilliant.
