Yey I did 5K today. Very slowly its true but I did the distance! Now I feel confident to do a Parkrun next time I have a free Saturday. No doubt I will come in last, but at least I'll know I can finish. :)

Well done on reaching 5K. I quite like the idea of running a Parkrun, but am waiting until I have run at least one 5km route! Having looked at the results for the local parkrun, I know I'll be in the slowest 10%, but at least I wish to run all the way!

I came in last on my first park run (I've done two) and the fact that I got all the way round - albeit walking a bit in the middle - made me feel great. I did my second park run last Saturday and graduated at the same time. Came in second to last but had improved my time by 4 min 55 sec and kept running (well jogging) all the way round. I felt like I was up on Cloud No. 9 at the end of it and you will too. It really doesn't matter where you finish. You get great support from everyone and I am sure if you do one you will feel really exhilarated at the end of it - even if somewhat "puffed" to put it politely ! Go for it if you feel ready. I am sure you'll get round to the finishing line.

Thanks for the encouragement. I think it may be Sept 22 for my first Parkrun effort. And if I come in last - at least I can only improve!

Well done on running your first 5K today, don't put off your Parkrun, you'll have fun and it doesn't matter if you come in last its more important to remember that about 10 weeks ago you could hardly run for 1 minute at a time, what a huge achievement that is by anyone's standards. Congratulations. :)
