Hi all, I have just completed week 5 run 1 but cannot imagine after just one more run that I will be able to complete 20 mins continuous running! Help! I am on a nine month mission to be a slim bride and hope to be running every other day for at least 30 mins but I'm losing some confidence - has anyone else done this and lost weight?

Pretty much everyone, who sticks with it, ends up losing weight. Or, at least, changing shape. Some, of course, don't need to lose weight, grr! :)

20 minutes isn't that much of a leap, I know it seems it, but if you've managed ok up to now, you should be fine. Start off gently, don't go too fast, and be positive.

I've just done that 20 minutes run. It's amazing how your body copes with it. You will feel so over the moon after you complete it :)

Hi Slimmingbride2b. I would like to lose weight. That was partly my motivation in doing this. I have only lost a couple of pounds since I started and I completed W6 R3 yesterday, 25mins. I definitely have lost an inch or two though. My problem is that I love eating all the wrong foods. I will get there with controlling my calories but I wanted to graduate and achieve a level of fitmess first. I think I am worried that if I cut out the food I currently eat, I wont have the energy to complete the harder runs. I need to lose about 18lbs and I am confident it will all come together. Nine months is plenty of time for you. I also felt the same about the 20 min run. I was so worried I had nerves all day at work. I felt like I was going to have an exam. I just ensured I did not go too fast and relaxed; I actually went a little bit too slow I think but I wanted to be sure I completed it. I also shut Laura off after the warm up, sorry Laura, and listened to my own music, that really helped me get through. Best of luck, you will be fine you'll see.

I felt the same when my 20minutes was coming up, I woke up early and away I went. It's not so bad when you get into it. I focused on other things when I was running and before I knew it laura was telling me I had 60 seconds left its an awesome feeling when you do it. You will notice that you will start noticing the food you need to eat to fuel your runs, good luck

I did the W5R3 last week and can honestly say I was terrified. One week later I'm really looking forward to my longer runs. It was so much easier than I thought it was going to be. In fact I would say the longer runs are easier than the 5min runs.

Not what you're looking for?
