This morning was my first 5k "race"....promoted as "flat to downhill the entire length" with many PB's assured. They weren't having us on, either. The race is on one of our local park system's hiking/biking trails through a lovely woods and flat as a table top.
A "bad reaction" to a medication laid me out all last week, and by this morning I was either well rested and rearing to go, or ready to chuck running in the dustbin. But the "fates" smiled, our temps plummeted overnight (15° this morning, down from our usual 20's), and we had a breeze. Downright chilly at the start.
I just wanted to break 36:00 for the 5k, but between the rest and endorphins, I managed 34 and change. I'm happy.
Guess I'll continue running, too.

Well done Grammadog! It's been hot here and hard to get out running with school hols and other events so I envy your lovely run in the woods! Great time too!
I know this is a bit late but have just been catching up on what everyone is up too post holiday. Well done you! Sounds like a great place to run...flat and downhill...now why can't all runs be like that lol.
