Week 5 Run 3 Looming

Really, really nervous about Week 5, Run 3...20 minutes of running. Laura says it is psychological...really don't want to fail and spoil my copy book as I have managed ever challenge up to now - albeit slowly. Eeek!

Have to say I am feeling exactly the same as you. Have just done week 5 run 2 today and although I managed it, towards the end it was getting tough and this is the most tired I have felt so far. Really trying to stay positive about run 3 on Friday but not looking forward to it.

I would say if you are tired to maybe think about an extra rest day so that you don't feel drained before you start? Being tired could affect you mentally as well as physically. As below, start slowly & pace yourself.

Don't worry about it, Laura is right & I am guessing you have trusted her so far?! :)

The key is to pace yourself, start slowly, you can always increase pace at the end if you have anything left in the tank (I didn't lol).

I remember being really nervous about week 5 run 3 too. I looked all over this forum to read about other people who had felt similarly nervous but then managed it ... just to tell myself that if they could do it, I could do it too. I did! And it was such a fantastic feeling to have managed it that I cried! I think this is a fantastic programme because it builds you up so that when you start hitting the longer runs, you actually can do them. Trust the programme and ignore that nagging voice in your head. Good luck!
