Is a warm / semi hot bath good for your muscles after a run or does it have to be cold???

have your bath warm and then wrap your legs up. Your muscles might be fatigued by the run but not injured so ice or cold baths are contra-indicated. Massage and remember to keep them fairly active tomorrow too. :)

Absolutely agree. Besides, the warm bath is such a nice reward! A cup of epsom salts in your bath water can also help relieve muscle tension. And as happierswimming says, try to keep moving on your rest days - maybe a walk? - to keep them from getting all stiff.

If you are actually injured, or if your joints hurt, cold will reduce inflammation and pain. You can have your nice bath for your muscles, and then put an icepack (wrapped in a towel) on the swollen part after you are all clean and relaxed. But only if you are injured, not just have regular ran-hard muscle soreness.
