Does anyone have any reccomendations for leggings that aren't too warm?

Feeling very thankful for the /slightly/ cooler weather, however I am still feeling rather warm while running. Im still not at the point where I am comfortable running in shorts so I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for leggings that can still keep me somewhat cool?

We used to have a lady on C25K named Flick, she had "hundreds" of very colourful leggings and would advise you what to wear, however, I am sure there are many other ladies on the forum who will advise you regarding your question.

I have some cropped leggings from Decathlon, they come just below my knees and are quite thin, just the basic Kalenji with a random print. I’ve had them for three or four years. They have a leg pocket for a phone and a back waistband zipped pocket. I don’t seem to get too hot in them so I wear them in the summer.

Aah amazing thank you! I will have a look at decathlon. Leg and waistband pockets are such a welcome bonus!! 😊

Tikiboo...Sweaty Betty...Reebok...so many out there.. all prices too...Lidl and Aldi often carry sports wear too. Loads of sales right now too.. If you are leg shy.. skorts are great..I have two..

( I have skinny legs) and I go for crops sometimes. I do tend to cover up though usually as insects seem to love to munch on me. I must taste good.!

I get very hot whilst running apart from my legs! I wear decathlon full length leggings with a back waist pocket. Very comfortable, Saying all that I am trying to be brave and wear shorts !

Same here. I get hottest in my torso (especially in my back).

I wear a very lightweight top from Decathlon but they did not seem to be restocking them but it is short sleeved.

Thanks all, I think decathlon might be the one! 😊

I have Rab, Ron Hill and Montane tops but they are all hotter to wear tan Decathlon

I'm happy to run in shorts, but when I want to protect my legs from ticks in the heat. I find loose, very thin jogging bottoms cooler than leggings. I have a couple of pairs from H&M. One pair are almost like teabag material and the other like shellsuit material with lots of little holes behind the knees. Both work well.

I was wondering if loose joggers were better than leggings which tend to make me feel constricted! Thank you so much for the heads up 😊

Bamboo describes itself as warm in the cold and cool in the heat.

Interesting! Thank you! Is bamboo a brand? 😊

Sorry, I started to reply and got sidetracked. Try BAM or type bamboo clothing into Google.

I second Oldfloss’s skort recommendations. Never worn them but 2pair I ordered arrived yesterday. Big pocket in the shorts and zipped pocket in the waistband at rear. Skirt comes just above the knee. Check out Tikiboo

I would never wear shorts, but having made the change I prefer them. Maybe give it a go? Makes less washing. If not, capris are good, which is what I used to use all the time. Just picked them up at TKMax

I have Ron Hill Capri leggings, they come to just below the knee. They have a little zip pocket on the waistband, and mesh panels behind the knee, and they are great for any except sweltering weather, when I reluctantly dig out my M&S basic black running shorts. But I find that any leggings with a gap at the bottom and mesh inserts is cooler than full length. My running vest from wiggle is the coolest to wear but is the same hot tomato colour as my face after a run 🍅 second coolest is one from decathlon.

They’re not cheap but you can nearly always get a discount: Sweaty Betty Power leggings. Lots of colours and different lengths with a great phone pocket and another at the back. The waist band can be adjusted too.

Like you, I feel the world just isn’t ready for me in shorts Ayano21 so I bought some leggings from M&S. Decathlon also do them or you could look at the Contra website and see what they have - they’re linked to the parkrun organisation.

I don’t wear shorts (wish I had the confidence!) but have a couple of pairs of Nike Dri fit 7/8 running leggings. I’ve had them a while - I think they might be from the Air range but they have mesh panels at the back of the leg which helps to keep them cooler, as does the wicking fabric. Good luck in your search!🙂

I have some ‘old faithful’ cropped leggings that are from Sports Direct - the brand is USA Pro. They’re good as you get some aeration around the calf and ankle. I’ve also got leggings that are lightweight from Sainsbury’s and M&S - both decent and relatively inexpensive. Friends have recommended Fabletics but I can’t get my head around how their set up works - maybe it’s just me 🤣

On a final note - I never thought that I’d wear shorts either but I am a convert and I really couldn’t give a sh!te how I look in them. I avoid mirrors and hold my head up high because I’m a runner now and so are you 😊 Never feel self conscious about your running gear because the key word is *running* - not idling or sitting around doing nowt but running. Be proud x
