Starting C25k again.

So i started the programme a few months back but after just 2 weeks stopped for various reasons. I am now looking forward to start again! Hopefully tomorrow..

Goals are to lose weight, get back into shape and just generally be healthier :) Will be weighing myself and taking measurements before I start and then again half way through the programme and at the end. Maybe take some before/ after pictures.

Looking forward to getting back into it, but not so much to the first run, simply as the last time it made me realise just how out of shape I am. Suppose didn't help that I'd not long had a baby at that point. But at 22 and being very active throughout school/ college, it's kind of depressing to see just how bad things have got.

Good luck! I am starting week 3 this week! I am really nervous about this weeks workout. Running for 3 minutes is scaring me. Anyway hope your week is good :)

I started week one at new year. I'm 52 and have always been very overweight but had lost 5st by Christmas last year so wanted to start to get fitter. I did week one for four weeks before I felt ready to move to week two. But after a week of tha I had to stop due to ankle pain - it is just strting to feel better so Im hoping to restrt in another week if it continues to improve. I may do a week of week one again to get back rolling. Like Hollieallana I am dreading the thought of week three running for three minutes - but when I did week one run one I couldnt even manage all the reps. So it is do-able. And it gets to be frustrating when you cant run! (I never thought I'd say that!).

Well done on the weight loss! I've got over 4st to lose to get to a healthy weight.

I'm dreading what my ankle will be like, got an old injury from when i was doing my dance gcse and 6 years later it still plays up from time to time :(

Wow 4 weeks! I think that will be me! Already said to my other half that even though it's a 9 week course it will probably take me about 3 times as long! But hey, at least we are out there and doing something for our health!

Can I just say that I'm 52 and overweight and I had to repeat week 1 a couple of times and then had to stop for a couple of weeks due to painful knees.

But this afternoon I'm doing the last run of week 7!! I found it difficult to run for 60 second and now I can run for 25mins! What a wonderful thing the human body if.

You'll be surprised by how much easier it is to get back into it after you've proved yourself once already that you can do it. It's amazing what a stumbling block the mind can be. I had to do the same once and was restarting c25 after a period poor health and 2 major surgeries and long periods of recuperation and hardly doing anything. I had never been weaker and yet getting back into running was immeasurably easier than starting was originally. I'm sure you'll complete the course at least and good luck! Just make sure to warm up and down, stretch and rest each time.

I did it last year and got all the way to w7 - then we had that spell of really hot weather and I just couldn't run in the heat, then I hurt my ankle and then had period of ill health. Before I knew it was Christmas, the running had ground to halt and the weight had piled back on. I couldn't face the rain but have been nagging at myself for weeks. The sunshine and a very depressing trip clothes shopping forced me off the couch yesterday. It was easier than the first time round although still hard, you get out of shape again so quickly. However telling myself I did it before and I'll do it again and all the way this time and keep it up!

That's really encouraging for me that people are restarting. I think I was on week 5 when I had to stop because of illness a few weeks ago.

Well done to everyone that has already done so well!

I can't wait to get back out there. But need to get the ipod sorted first (had to get a new laptop but still have the harddrive from the old one which has itunes with all our music and the podcasts on - just can't find the harddrive - woops!)

Not sure what I will be like in this weather, it's been very warm for the last few days and I don't handle heat very well! Unfortunately early morning or evening/late night runs are not an option.

It is hard starting again. I am starting again after a six month break due to my mum's death and sorting out her estate. Have put on loads of weight but did two runs last week. Bring it on Laura and Couch to 5k course.

I'm starting back tomorrow (Tuesday). I had to stop on week 6 three weeks ago because of a heavy cold/virus. Good luck to all begin again beginners ;)

Thumbs up ;)

I first started last summer and wimped out after two weeks because of the heat. This time round, I've just completed Week 7 and intend to continue!

Ok, I said earlier that I was re-starting my c25k tomorrow (Tuesday). Well, I started today. I started on w2 (having stopped 3 weeks ago on w6 due to a cold/virus) I found it ok-ish but at least i'm on my way :)

Kind of disappointed I didn't get to go for a run today, was really looking forward to it. Found the hard drive i was looking for, but then had problems getting the podcast onto the ipod. Even now it's not on the playlist, but comes up if I do a search for it. At least it's now on there and i can start tomorrow :D
