So I figured I've been neglecting everything around here for far too long, and it's time I got my arse back in to gear.
Having graduated about 6 weeks ago (I think?) I have barely ran since. A few personal issues, an almighty career upheaval, and some serious re-assessments of priorities left me all out of kilter, and running just didn't seem like fun any more. I felt sorry for myself, in the extreme. Moping, eating, lazing around, struggling with work, and just generally being a bit down. Today, that all changes. I've had enough of feeling sorry for myself, and it's time to get my arse back out onto those paths!!
I'm starting again with week 7, as I fear over the last month I may well have lost some overall fitness. I've got Laura back for structure, and you guys for support, and I'm determined to have at it again. I'm going to get back into it. Even looking for a 5k to sign myself up to in a couple of months (I graduated at just over 3.5k) to make sure I don't loose emphasis again.
Wish me luck- I fear I might need it!
xx

Glad you got your running shoes back on. Good for you. Welcome back. It's a bit bonkers on here at the minute what with Dozzer about embark on the north face of run 3 week 9 but dive straight back in. You could come with us as we're going to cheer him on
What's that then? Sounds fun! I did it! Not too fast, but a solid 25 minutes. In the biggest thunderstorm I've seen in a long time. Not the smartest idea, but brilliant fun. Photo is on the fb page- I don't know how to put it up here from my phone! I'm soaked to the bone!
Glad you are back running! Sounds like life has been a bit hectic lately. x
Well done for getting back out there! Your post struck a chord with me, busy life, stress and feeling down about my weight (less than 3 weeks til bridesmaid duties and dress which shows every lump and bump) which I've decided to address by eating Jammie Dodgers instead of exercising, so I'm just waiting for my dinner to settle before I head out for a run - my first in more than 3 weeks. Looking forward to it; if you can run in a thunderstorm, I can run on a cloudy, pleasant evening. Keep running, and I'll do the same!
Well done you! Sorry about your rough time.., sounds like the couch nearly got you back in his evil clutches..! But nooo you broke out and now you've started to unleash those endorphins... Go you!
