Merrell Pace Glove - anyone run in these?

Saw a pair of these in a sale today and I was drawn to them for their look, wasn't sure whether they were running shoes until I got home and checked.

I have a pair and started my C25K using them, I love the sleek minimal look and found them really confortable. However, I got bad calf muscle pain after every run and have had to revert to the more supported traditional trainer. I am really disappointed as I hate trainers, so bulky and brash!

I may return to the barefoots for walking rather than running.

PS the new trainers have given me knee pain so its a bit of trade off!

Interesting as I have got a slight twinge in my knee and was just wondering if this might be my answer. If they are still in the shop tomorrow might buy them and if I don't run in them will use them for walking.
