Landing on your heal?

I started the C25K plan in Febuary but injured my achilles tendon and was out for 3 months. I started again and am about to start week 5. However, since my injury I have been told you shouldn't land on your heal as it can lead to injury, Laura reccommends you should land on your heal, just wondered what others do or reccomend?

Personally I try to land mid foot really for the same reason, that heel striking seems to be frowned on.

I do tend to use heal landing...

I actually find when I start noticing I am getting strain in my shins, I focus more on the heel landing and I find it more comfortable. For me the heel landing reduces my strain... but I wonder if the variations have more to do with how we all have different gaits anyway?? I am very short so maybe that has some role in it too?? Just guessing really...
