I think I read somewhere that you should try to land mid sole on your foot when running, to avoid shin splints. Then I did W2R1 on Monday using the Podcast which is voiced by Laura. Before the first run she gives tips, and said that you should land on your heel as the best way to avoid injury. Now I’m confused.....can anybody clarify?

If you’ve got to keep your weight over your foot then a heel strike seems a bit of a stretch too far. I’ve adopted the Japanese slow running technique which keeps you feet well and truly under you weight.
Hmmmm...... just listened to the podcast and she does say to land on your heel, not the ball or side of your foot....... does sound the opposite to all other advice I’ve heard.
I think mid-sole is now considered best & that the podcast has yet to be updated. I’m another Slow Runner so I land with feet well under me & no problems. 😊
Think this is one where an error may have crept in and has hasn’t been corrected yet - as others have said, heel striking is not recommended these days!
