It will be my first race and it's next Sunday. I had a reasonably good 4 mile run this evening with the running club - walked a little bit but finished quite quickly (for me) and with a longer stride. It cheered me up a lot after all my recent self-doubt - I was so frustrated with my lack of confidence last night that I cried myself to sleep (I'm a grown up - surely I shouldn't be doing that at age 45 !?!?)
Nice to have something to aim for !

Good for you for taking on this new challenge. You will be brilliant, I am sure! And as for having moments of self-doubt - only fools think they are invincible. Clear-thinking, honest people recognize the possibility of limitations. Just don't let it stop you from trying!
I know the feeling about having a crisis of confidence but as you've found it takes one good run and you are back in the game. Good luck with the race on Sunday, let us know how you get on
