Help, failed..............

I complete wk 3 several times until I was happy to move on to the dreaded wk 4, well wk4 run 1 this morning was a disaster. I completed warm up 3 min run, only managed half the 5 min run, again 3 min run fine and only 3 min on the last 5 min run. This is the first time I am seriously doubting I can do this. I dont want to go back to wk 3 as I fell I did achieve slightly more this morning but not what I should have been able to do, I am stuck between wk 3 and 4. :(

No need to go back missymil, just repeat week 4 run 1 again. You can achieve this.

Go for it! You'll find lots of posts from people who've had bad runs and felt like giving up, but trust the programme and keep trying - I never believed I'd get to week 7 in a million years, but I have, and if I can do it, you can definitely do it too!

Courage!

I found the 1st run of week 4 really tough too. In fact I stopped the treadmill about a minute into the 2nd 5 minute section and just got off. No cooldown walk, nothing. i felt I had no more to give. I felt I had failed too. But I came on here and someone told me you never fail, you just have 'more challenging runs' and to put it down to experience.

Don't let it put you off, it's a very small blip on a very big landscape.

I found that by week 4 the mental challenge really steps up as well as the physical one. Give it another whirl, you will probably surprise yourself! :)

Please please have another go, I struggled with a number of weeks but kept going although I’m not sure how. Just determined not to be beaten. I was 6 stone overweight mid 50's and never thought I would even get past week 1. I have never been interested in exercise and would have struggled to run for a bus let alone over 3 miles. This programme has really CHANGED MY WHOLE LIFE. After completing the 9 weeks I have continued running every other day, doing about 3.5 miles each time. I am slow but I just don’t care as I have lost almost 2.5 stone dropped 2 dress sizes and feel so much better about myself and have tons more energy and been spurred on to eat more healthily. I have also added in some weight training to get rid of my bingo wings and my tum and am determined to shed the remaining 3.5 stones before Christmas.

Go for it and I am sure you will never regret it. GOOD LUCK.

Thank you all so much. I have had a chat to myself about the run and will be out again on Friday morning plodding through. So lucky to have all this support : )

I'm at the exactly the same point - stuck between week 3 & 4. Just cant manage those 5 minutes. Its my third attempt tonight. Everyone is very encouraging and its great to see it is possible.

I'll just keep doing week 4 runs until I succeed. Way behind the 9 week target already (9 months maybe?)

WK4 run2, failed again, if I am honest I only managed 2 mins of the running segments today, have decided to go back to wk3 for a few more trys as I think my mind is in a bad place now telling me I cant do it. I know I can manage wk 3 so think I may, build on those running segments. I am my own worse enemy, talking myself out of pushing to finish.
