Not the birthday present I wanted

I'm sorry to say that my 55th birthday present today is not to graduate on it (which was my aim a couple of weeks ago) but to be told by my GP that I have damaged/torn my left medial meniscus (cartilage on the inside of the knee). In my twenties I did this to my right knee so knew deep down it was not just messing about with ligaments.

I'm now waiting to be booked to see a physio prior to probably having surgery to repair it so sadly I am off the programme for the forseeable future. I will be back as soon as I can.

To say I am gutted is a bit of an understatement as I have really got the bug for this running lark big time.

Good luck to the rest of you and enjoy the challenge.

What very bad luck. I know everyone here will be very sorry and so sympathetic and hope you get back to running as soon as you're mended. Good luck with the surgery.

I'm sorry to hear that. I hope it heals well, and you come back better than ever.
