Dammit they are starting to hurt like all the time through a run now and it is really affecting my motivation!
I will concentrate on stretching on non run days and i walk at least 1.5 miles every day anyway - but will they ever let up?!?!

Should say im on week 7 r1
They will!
Mine played up pretty much all the way through to week 8ish I think. Then they magically seemed to sort themselves out :o)
Stretching is good and foam rollering helps if you can a. keep your balance(!!) and b. bear the pain!!!
Always stretch properly after running.. runningforfitness.org/book. Go to the section treating injuries
I had the same difficulty in the earlier weeks, like a burning sensation. I find I focus on breathing well, keep my pace slow and focus on deliberately relaxing the calf muscles as I run and the pain goes. Nhope you find a way through it, it gets better
Sounds like a job for a foam roller. Nothing like a bit of foam roller agony to sort out muscle pain. Good luck
Mine only ache on the cool down walk - to the point I actually have to jog walk home. I was doing Achilles stretches and that seems to have helped a wee bit. Stand on step and dip your heels for 10 seconds then tip toes for 10 seconds. A few times a day.
