Hey Liz, sorry to hear this. My legs felt very heavy on my last run and think I need to incorporate some stretching. What stretching do you do? X

I’m not sure maybe somebody else can help that can happen me after a run if I hadn’t drank enough, sometimes severe stretching before a run isn’t good either , hope you get more advice

Possibly I'm doing too much. I will do less at the begining but more at the end.

I had calf problems when I started ( a year ago..long story)..lots of burning sensations and cramping as soon as I started....I did calf stretches..but the thing that helped most was doing a strange slow motion march type movement..no idea why..also slowing down to a snails pace but continuing to move..however I have a treadmill at home so could do lots of moves without being 😂 inhibited.

Due to a serious back problems I have yet to complete C25k but the calf problems cleared up ..I have now begun again on treadmill with no complaints from my calves..

You should be carefull with stretching prior to exercise. You could always undertake dynamic stretches though, which is basically a series of controlled movements. An example here: nhs.uk/live-well/exercise/h...

After you warm down walk your usual stretches, here: nhs.uk/live-well/exercise/h...

Other than that I recommend a foam roller (not for the faint hearted) and heat pads: poundland.co.uk/masterplast...

Stretching is good, just not right before a workout. However, afterwards and two or three times a day (even non-run days) will really help your muscles.

Please read the guide to the plan healthunlocked.com/couchto5... which includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run and pacing which will all help.

Take care.
