Sometimes you just have to give yourself a talking to and get on with it!

Nearly didn't go out this morning; I still have an awful cold and have felt oddly deflated since Saturdays parkrun. I was super high on Saturday and then came down with a bump the next day.

I was due for an 8 mile run today so I knew I was going to need a big talking to before going out. There was to be no stopping and no quitting half way. I wasn't to let a silly cold get in the way, just take extra tissues.

I'm pleased to say that I did 13k (just over 8 miles) and it took me one hour and 32 minutes. The route did a loop around the village including several hills and finished with 20 minutes on an incredilbly muddy trail through a wood, so my pace dropped significantly there. It's a good minute slower per km compared to the flat of Hastings seafront, but hey, I was more than pleased with my efforts :)

Wow, well done you. I can only aspire t do 13k. I can do 5k but just don't have the energy to do anymore at the minute.

Wow, 13k? that's an immense amount of running. I'd love to get to that level.

You're right though, you've got to be firm with yourself!

Love to be doing that, the mind is ready but the body is weak especially the piriformis muscle that won't let me do too much.

Sounds fantastic
