I am intending to do my first parkrun on the May 26th parkrun day. Ive looked at the Preston venue and its in quite an attrative park with a nice refreshments pavilion for the important coffees afterwards.
Is NHS Couch to 5k Parkrun day (May 26th) stil... - Couch to 5K
Is NHS Couch to 5k Parkrun day (May 26th) still on?
I think AliB1 is your contact for that - I'm pretty certain she was the one who suggested that date, although a couple of us are doing 2nd June instead..... Good luck!
I'll be doing the parkrun again on Saturday....will be nice to know i have company tygfuz even if it is virtual
I'm kite surfing this Saturday which means no parkrun for me
I'll be doing the parkrun this Saturday
my local parkrun isn't on this week theres a concert or something going on!
See now I feel really left out
Patbutcher, I've no run this week so I'm free to be your virtual cheerleader you do your Parkrun and I'll get some poms poms and cheer you on!
Go for it!
Unfortunately the closest park run is Exeter, and it starts at 9, too far for me on a Saturday morning!! Thanks though girlies Pom poms out for my treadmill 10 k training today though?!?!?!?!
It looks as though there will be at least a few of us doing the parkrun( AliB1,Rose885,hopefully Ribblelady and myself). Pity about the ones who couldn't make it but at least there is the alternative of June 2nd for anyone who cant make this Saturday.
Anyone who is interested in a parkrun should go to parkrun.org.uk and register. From this you get a barcode to use at any parkrun.
I am working on the basis that the time doesnt matter too much as a slow time will make it easier to get a personal best next time. At least the weather is dry at the moment. Hope it stays till Saturday.
there isn't one near me at all, so I can't join in, maybe we should choose a weekend as a virtual park run and all post our times on here for our 5ks where-ever and however we run them -we could get JR to give the winner a medal
I heard about a thing that's along the same lines as this called Anywhere5k (anywhere5k.com/) They have different "races" throughout the year and you just sign up and run your own 5k on that date and report back with your time. I think a results timetable is published with everyone that takes part.
It would be nice to do our own C25K one though, great idea!
