Using early Podcasts for interval training?

Has anyone tried using the early podcast to get their speed up? I wondered about trying to run fast(ish!) for a minute then jog or walk using them.

Yes, I've been doing it too. When I tried to do my normal run pace for walking and faster running wasn't brilliant but just doing the podcast as per instruction but running faster has been good. Actually last time out I wasn't running any faster because it was uphill but it was a challenge.

I've been doing this too but using week 2 now rather than week 1 as I found the 8 repetitions unbearable.

I have found it quite tough and the middle jog break has been a walk a couple of times but I have really tried to push myself on the run parts. Really seeing the benefits on my 5k time though- 3 mins off it in 3 weeks although the 5k run itself doesn't feel any harder

Yep I've been doing this for 3 weeks now...using week one podcast and jogging when laura says" walk" and running faster when she says "run."

I also do my 5 minute warm up walk BEFORE the podcast, so can do an easy jog while she says do the warm up walk, otherwise you're straight into fast running. Just read all that and not sure if it makes sense! Any how, have found it has helped with pace and confidence :) :)

Hi

I have also done the earlier podcasts substituting the walk with a jog and the jog with a run, and found it really helpful as you still get Lauras encouragement. I have tried a few of the later ones as I found these easier to adapt (also didnt remenber the misic...I was getting a bit bored with w9) Looking forard to teh new podcasts! :-)

I (fingers crossed) will graduate on Thursday and have been thinking of doing interval training using week 2 perhaps. But I also need to improve my up hill running so have found an area in the forest tracks were I run which have 4 steep ups and downs which I will be able to cover in figure of 8's. I'm hoping doing this for 1/2hr twice a week along with one 5Km run will help improve my speed.
