after getting the results from xray no fracture but i have hip bursitis so ive not run for a week and afraid its down to over doing it again, the doctor i see was very good she s a runner herself told me off for over doing it and fact that i ran 3 halfs in a 2 week period was too much ,tonight i shall try and run 2 mile and see how it feels then have 2 days rest if it returns i shall have injections from what i read they seem to work fingers crossed my next half is on july 6 so i might make it :) happy running all

The injections don't work for everyone, didn't help me :( I ended up having ultra sound therapy and that did help along with rest and physio, since I started running it's all calmed down and haven't had a problem. Hope it gets better soon

it was before I started running and was combined with chronic back pain so I cant give a definite time frame but I was in pain for maybe a year, I wasn't really until I started running that I became pain free, it flared at first but I was taking longer rest breaks and that seemed to help

Try wetting a hand towel (wring out the excess water) and pop it into the freezer for a couple of hours. For a large area like a hip it will wrap around and be better than ice packs perhaps.
