W3R2 completed yesterday and I feel like i'm making progress. The legs still ached at the end - the last 3minute run was hard work - but after a few stretches and a shower I felt really energised................and hungry. Managed to ignore the cake my daughter had made, and had something healthy instead.
Next run on Sunday, and then it's on to week 4. Seems like a big jump.

Well done Chris, glad you are feeling a sense of achievement! And turning down freshly baked homemade cake is amazing! We seem to be running in tandem - I did w2r2 last night and have r3 on Sunday too lol - good to see someone at the same point as me. Week 4 does seem like a big jump - five minutes?! running?! Me?! Not sure my legs will see me though yet!! May add in a r4 depending on how Sunday goes. Good luck for run 3 - keep us posted
Hi Chris and Nat, I'm on the same week as you as well but one day ahead, due to do r3 on Saturday. But I'm a bit worried as my knees are aching, even on rest days. Do yours? I really like doing c25k and don't want to give it up. Has anybody graduated with aching knees? is it a part of the body getting used to all this exercise?
I've got supported Saucony running trainers (did the wet footprint on paper test). Would love to have a gait analysis done, but I live flippin miles from anywhere that might do it.
I must admit, I've been lucky with aches and pains, since w1r2 I've been fine. I'm surprised really as I do have creaky knees and carry far too much excess weight, so it is something I need to keep an eye on. I walk a bit strangely - I seem to throw my knees out to the side and walk on the outside of my feet and do wonder if this will have an adverse effect on my running when I am at the stage of doing longer (or "proper"!) runs. My current trainers are fine at the moment, but I may consider having gait analysis and getting better ones when I graduate as an incentive to work towards the next stage. I hadn't heard of the wet footprint test before you mentioned it, but it makes sense.
Hopefully your aches are just part of your body getting used to running. Hope they ease up soon. As we are at the same point I'll be keeping an eye out for your posts to see how you are doing good luck for r3!
