It is shorter (timewise on the podcast) and there doesn't seem to be more running even though Laura says there is. My treadmill says its a shorter distance and less calories than wk2? I am really worried that this means I will find week 4 harder if week 3 hasnt been a progression fro week 2. Is it OK to trust Laura?
Wk3 seems easier than wk2-?: It is shorter... - Couch to 5K
Wk3 seems easier than wk2-?
I am not sure the distance is what matters I think this is to develope ability to run for a longer time and keep going. Lots of people are getting there with the programme so don't worry.
I'm really pleased when I read everyone else's success stories. It makes me believe that it must be possible. I haven't ventured outside yet which is another hurdle to overcome, but the weather is putting me off (as well as the embarrassment factor) but I plan to run outside in the next week or so...promise......
Yes - do do do trust Laura! The total running time may not be different but you are running continuously for twice as long as you've done previously - this builds stamina. You'll find as the weeks go by that the runs gradually get longer and the walks shorter, till they all join up and you're running 20, 25, 28 and then 30 minutes in one go!
You are by the way perfectly entitled to retun here in week 5 and ask 'Surely 20 minutes can't be RIGHT??? We've all asked the same thing, and it is. And you can
get outside its liberating! i walk my kids to school and then set off on my warm up walk and have planned my route around the neighbourhood. the fresh air and the weather only add to it which makes running outside even more enjoyable and you dont have to worry about varying your pace as you do on a treadmill, you just go! for me there is no comparison between the treadmill and out in the open and who cares if anyone looks at you, they are only jealous!
