My first run, well not sure you could call it a run!

So, here I am, just under 18 stones having lost 4 in the last few months. I got talked into doing the great north run in Sept and had heard C25K was great. And today I did my first one, sure it nearly killed me but I finished it which I didn't think I would do. I am utterly unfit and carrying 6 stone but hopefully by sept not only will I be loads lighter but I'll also be fitter. So I might be able to run all of it but you know what, I'll give it a damn good try!

Before I even stepped out the door, I nearly failed trying to get my shock absorber bra on, blimey the second set of hooks are tricky. Then I got half way down the road and my iPod ran out of juice. I'm just so proud I didn't listen to the excuses in my head not to do it or stop half way.

I'm mightily impressed by all of you on here who are now running for more than one minute at a time - not sure I'll get there but I'll keep trying!

Well done allie, I had my first run today too. I chose the right time, it was sunny and I suppose I did enjoy it, I certainly did after as I felt the achievement buzz. I to have some weight to shift so will be trying really hard with the diet too. I plan to run again on Tuesday, not so easy in the week but I have for to be able to find half an hour. Good luck for the next one and wow I admire your goal.

Don't worry you can and will do it, I'm on week three and didn't think I could get this far but I'm still hanging in there..........

I recognise that user name :)

Well done on your first run, you did brilliantly. Just stick to the program and you will be running for 5 minutes in no time. I did W6R2 this morning (2x10 minutes) and would not have believed it possible just a few short weeks ago. If you can stick to LLT then you will do this.

Good luck and welcome.

Allie well done - your determination will get you whizzing through the North Run. I think sports bras should come with a health warning. Have pinged my eye more than once ...

Haha RhonaL I know what you mean, I managed to stab my finger in my eye whilst trying to do it up, not sure how!! Thanks for the encouragement, right now I feel great for running 8 minutes (albeit in one min slots) not sure how a few hours will fell but not going to think about that yet!
