Out of action for 8 days...

C25K has brought a great amount of pleasure to me. The fact that now I'm able to run for 25 minutes non-stop is something I couldn't have imagined before. Not that I ever dreamed of it, it was completely out of question. However the desire to get fit, lead me to this program. I have found that besides getting fit, I've developed a fondness for running: it feels me with life and makes me happier. I didn't know that taking up this challenge also meant I would get those extra bonus points!

But for the last week I've been missing those 30+ minuntes on my own... The day after finishing my W7R2 (25' run) I couldn't use my left leg at all! I'd pulled a muscle. It's taken over 4 days to be able to walk again. But even now the leg feels a bit tight. I'm itching to go out and run again. I'm missing both the challenge and the rewards, the hard work and the joy of finishing a good run. I must admit that if I had had this kind of difficulty early on the plan, I may not have stuck to it.

I feel I need to rest for one or two days more, and then I will try to run again but perhaps in 2 periods of 12 and a half minutes... I don't want to spoil the whole thing and not being able to run at all. I dream that I day I'll be able to run for more than 5K.

you'll get there :) just be patient. make sure your leg is fully ok before your venture out again. take it from someone who ran on a poorly knee & had to take a month off because of doing so.

enjoy the rest time. it will make you more determined to finish the plan :)

& well dont on the 25min run. a proper runner now :)

I was very sore last week from playing soccer on my "off day" and ended up having to take some time off as well. I am going to start again tomorrow . I know how you feel it is frustrating , you want to get back out there but need more time to heal. Well done for doing a full 25 mins. I am about to start wk5,moving into the longer runs.

don't try to run through the pain as that can make it a 100 times worse; if it doesn't feel right after a few minutes you should stop - better lose a few dyas or weeks while waiting to recover than lose a few months due to aggravating an injury
