Wk7 R2- tell me its the heat?!!!!

Just completed this run in the glorious sunshine but it was SO hot! Found it very tough and there was no way of pushing myself in the last minute. I am never very good in the heat and probably should have waited till the temp dropped. I did manage to keep going though till the bitter end! Im hoping its mainly due to the heat why this run was so hard for me as its knocked my confidence a little.

  • It IS the heat!

Don't worry we'll be back to normal temperatures by the weekend :(

  • I've been running quite late because of that. Dread to think what I'll be like in the summer.... Oh wait, its the British summer, nothing to worry about :)

  • Well done for managing to push to the end despite your discomfort. This heat is ridiculous for us trainee runners! :) I've never been good in the heat either, it makes me feel sick and a bit panicky if I can't cool down. I'm avoiding anytime after 10 am and before 5 at the moment and keeping to shady woods.

  • Yeh I feel like I can't cope with the exercise if i'm too hot. I did take water with me for the first time but threw most of it on myself instead of drinking it! I have had a red face for the last 2 hours-attractive!

  • Have to ask, just curious about the 'chicken trousers' name(why?) and the photo. both great, both made me smile the first time i saw/read them (hope its a printable reason). Running in the heat makes it harder, well done for your run today.

  • Thanks for that. We have a miniature dachshund (not the one in photo, could'nt get hers to upload). Since we have had her, shes now 11, her nickname has always been Chickentrousers. Its so long ago that I can't remember why but its stuck. Her real name is George!
