week 1 run 1

Yea Me!!!! Finished my first run ever ever ever and feel well chuffed. I always worried about being breathless, never liked the feeling and as an ex smoker (over 3 years now) I knew how breathless I could get on least exertion. However today I did it I RAN! and yes I was breathless but I survived! Hope I feel the same on Thursday!

Well done - I felt exactly the same as you. I smoked 30 a day for 35 years but I gave up 7 years ago and that first session made me so elated and proud. Keep it up. I'm 63 and now in week 7 and I am now running for 25 mins non-stop. Keep it up and you'll definitely get there - week 6 is when you really improve - 20 mins! It seemed to be impossible but as long as you keep a slow pace you'll do it and feel great at the end of it. Trust in Laura - everything she says is absolutely true.

Well done!! In many ways you've done the hardest bit (ie getting started). I had no idea I could do it either, but am now facing up to week 5 run 3 with (some) confidence.... Stick with the programme - it won't let you down!
