Ran today W9 R2 after 7 days off with cold and sore throat. Kept to the program and pleased to report I finished the 30 minute run without any issues although heartbeat of 137 slightly higher than usual towards end of run. (Normally 128 ish). Went back to my base pace of 6.3 kph on the treadmill, and looking forward to completing last run on CT5K program on Thursday.Once I've completed program I would like to increase running time till I actually get to 5k, and then increase pace incrementally to get to 5k in 35 to 40 mins (I read somewhere that 35 to 40 minutes is about right for my age range). Alternatively I could increase pace over 30 mins and then once I've hit my max pace, increase time but not sure what my max pace would be. Also not sure I'll ever make10 kph which is what would be required to do 5k in 30 minutes. Thoughts?

Back on after 7 day sore throat and cold

nicely done I’m starting this over again so no helpful tips on pace as I’d kill to be doing yours ! One run to graduation - 👏

Woohoo! Sooo close!!! And what a great comeback after sore throat!
My preference is always to aim for extending distance first. But I’m a super slow runner where pace just doesn’t matter to me anymore.

Well done! Between the weather and flus and colds its been a pretty wretched winter.
Let us know when you complete! We'll look forward to that post...
Hello,
I am new to the posting thing and it feels a bit awkward but I wanted to reply because I am also doing my last run on Thursday and I will have finished the C25K and then I need to consolidate and perhaps also extend my running time.
Before I started this I had never done running, probably a legacy of school sport but I knew I needed to do something quite drastic and purposeful to improve my fitness as I am getting older. I am definitely not a natural runner but I am a naturally stubborn person and I have nearly done it!!!!
And I feel better, I am a slightly less blobby shape and more importantly it definitely improves my mood, not necessarily when I’m actually “running”. Just setting out to do a hard thing and unexpectedly achieving it is quite euphoric
