Really just an observation, but when running at the weekend and no work, I seem to find it so much easier than running after work, not easy, don't get me wrong, I still have to push myself. Time wise I think morning running would be better for me, but time does not allow it. Wondering how to replicate the rested run against the after work run? Mentally I think I am fine, but after a hard day there is definitely a less positive outlook, but not enough to say I am not going into the session down in any way.
When or how? : Really just an observation, but... - Couch to 5K
When or how?

yeah. I’m definitely a morning runner. And an empty-stomach runner.
I have run in various winters just before lunch, and that was doable for me. But early evening runs are nit my thing.
Strangely enough, I indoor row almost everyday just after work, and that feels fine. 🤔
It does take some time to figure out what patterns feel right to you, and the seasonal changes also influence this. But that is part of the fun!
Well done for running when it doesn’t feel brilliant! That’s an extra achievement!

About to finish wk 6, so every other day to two days if I feel the need for an extra recovery day.

Maybe like CBDB suggested a pre-lunch run might work? If you have an hour for lunch and are organised you can manage 30 minutes plus warm up, cool down, a quick wash of sweaty bits and a bite to eat. Best to run before you eat (and have breakfast a few hours beforehand).
When I was working I only had a 30 minute break but got into a habit of having a short walk, I'm sure it did me good to get away from the office (didn't run then).
I really like this: "If you have an hour for lunch and are organised you can manage 30 minutes plus warm up, cool down, a quick wash of sweaty bits and a bite to eat". I struggle with time for running sometimes because I always think I have to fit in the whole shower/hairdry rigmarole afterwards, but you've just stated an obvious answer - thank you! 😉😂

I am exactly the same. Weekend for me is parkrun, which is always nice and gets you up on a Saturday morning. During the week, I have to run after work and can't do morning's (I have to walk the dogs for a decent walk before work). Sometimes I feel it can be a bit of a chore, but I always go (Tuesday and Thursday after work). I tend to try and batch cook so that on the days I am running, I can just defrost something from the freezer and pop it in the microwave, therefore I'm not eating too late into the evening.
Hope this helps 😀

Sometimes due to obligations I have done late evening runs. Not ideal.
My preference would be morning runs in the summer and lunchtime runs in the winter.

I also have trouble running at the end of a work day. By the time I get home, often times I'm just mentally and physically spent.
For the times I have pushed myself to get into the running gear and gone out, I have been glad I did...but that inertia is difficult.
You're not alone.

I am also in this boat, so to speak, I just accept that 'after work runs' are harder, I do short ones after work.....save the longer ones for the weekend 😊
