Hi everyone!

I wanted to share my experience after completing Week 4, Run 1 today. It’s my first post here, so bear with me!

Like many before me it seems from what I have read, I was dreading this week. It felt like such a huge leap from the previous sessions, and I spent a lot of time psyching myself up to press “play” on the app. But I’m so glad I did because, surprisingly, it was okay—better than okay, actually!

Yes, the running intervals were longer, but I found my breathing stayed steady throughout. I even managed to enjoy it. The sun was shining, which was a bonus, and that little boost from the fresh air and a great playlist made a world of difference.

I’ve been reading through everyone’s posts, and I just wanted to say thank you. Your stories and encouragement have kept me motivated and reminded me that this journey is about progress, not perfection.

To anyone who’s feeling anxious about this week: you’ve got this. Trust the process, and you’ll surprise yourself with what you can achieve.

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas! Keep running, and I’ll see you out there (virtually, of course)

Hello and welcome. Great to have you on board. So much of this that we do is psychological. You’re right about trusting the process. Stick with it and it will see you through. I found the longer runs easier. Got in to a nice rhythm. Slow and steady. No need to rush it. I completed c25k last week. Tomorrow is my first parkrun. I’m looking forward to it because I know I have the legs for it. Don’t underestimate the help and support that is available here in this forum. Merry Christmas 🎅

Good share.

I found making a commitment to post about my runs helped my motivation so I'm looking forward to seeing some more from you Midlifewino Keep getting those shoes on and ticking off another run, that's really all there is to it. Every post here will give you a little community boost. I have been surprised how much is has added to improving my motivation for more runs. Prior to my week 5 runs and posts I kept stalling. Now I'm looking forward to my next outing.

Thank you all for your comments and feedback. I’m still going and even managed a run (slow jog) whilst we were away last week in a very busy Sidmouth which was a new thing for me as I don’t usually see anyone whilst out so don’t have to dodge around people.

Back home now and yesterday I did W5R2 and felt amazing so really looking forward to R3. Hubby says he’ll come with me, he’s always ran and is usually super fit, but has had time off past few months having developed AF so he’s just starting to get going again but i’m not sure if I need the pressure of a runninng partner so I’d love to know your thoughts on this. Do you all run alone or with someone?
