Week 6 - I'm a runner!!!

Even though this is 2nd+ time around doing C25K it was still a fist in the air moment to hear "you are a runner" at the end of this week.

After last week's culminating 20 minute run the first run of this week was deceptively hard ... so much so I started to doubt run 3 of this week.

I told myself off, I had the advantage of having been here before and told myself that the program works (because it does).

So this morning I delayed going out for run 3 a couple of times but eventually pushed myself out of the door into the cold! A double layer run day today seemed to do the trick.

I started the walk section waiting for the starting pistol and then set off, I decided to try and keep my pace nice and slow it ended up even slower! It did the trick I got to 20 mins OK and knew it was just mind over matter to get to the end.

I need to work on my hips and soles of my feet which are clearly not liking these longer runs.

Happy to get this one done and looking forward to next week trying to get more comfortable doing these durations.

Happy running everyone.

Great to see you back on the C25K programme again Richard7 ; you know it works! Enjoy being back on those pavements again. Running socks with a bit of cushioning might help those feet .

Thanks Dexy5 I have got the spiky "tennis" balls out to do some tough massage! It's worked before hopefully it will again! I might need to look at the wear in my shoes as using them at the gym doesn't seem to count as mileage!!

Oh yes, running shoes don’t generally like doing things other than running. 😂

Well done Richard. I have this run on Saturday and I know I can do it. And you'll be starting Week Seven so we'll be doing the same distance next week. Good luck to us both. We will smash it.

Well done! It makes a big difference having been here before, doesn't it? We now know to respect our bodies and listen to the 'niggles' 😀
