Just joined - I've done the first for weeks of Couch to 5k (although me being me I prefer "sofa to three miles ), and along the way so far I've found quite a lot of helpful advice here.
Background - late 40s, not entirely unactive (I've always enjoyed walking over the hills, not that I've done much of that lately), but definitely on the unfit and overweight side of things. Not sure why I just decided one day to give Couch to 5k a go (not even sure how I knew about it), but went off and bought some running shoes and gave it a go.
I felt pretty tired but good after the first run, and that's continued. I've only had one so far where I didn't feel I was getting anything from it and just felt it a struggle (a very windy day). Couldn't even have imagined being able to run five minutes a month ago.
So that leaves me facing week 5, which people seem to go on about a lot. And with the forecast for worse weather. And the strange thing? I'm actually really looking forward to it. Every step up so far has been "that sounds a bit much!" but they've worked, they've given me confidence that this one will too. Roll on Monday!
