Week 2 completed

Enjoyed the running today but on my second run, this massive Irish wolfhound appeared. I love dogs but this (I’m told it’s just a puppy!) ran up and planted its paws on my chest, then landed on my dog, Tia, a 7 year old, 10kg miniature schnoodle!! Yelps from both of us but no harm done. Completed run and managed 3.22k during the 30 minutes, which for me is good. Onwards to week 3!

That must have been scary, but you and your dog are ok so that's good and another run done

Glad your both ok, I've had a few encounters with surprise dogs! They have never meant any harm but can be quite a shock. Well done on completing week 2 👍🏻

🍏 Unexpected adventure on a forest trail today didn’t deter a very determined granny & her Schnoodle from completing week 2. All at C25K cheering her on to week 3. Watch this space!

Well done & glad all ended well 🤗

I had a large Staffordshire bull terrier leap at me and knock me to the ground, bit scary to be honest so have been trying to avoid dogs on my runs!!

I always stop if I see a dog ahead to see if the owner has it on a lead or under control as I know some do like a chase!! Have no idea of the etiquette but would assume if your dog is a bit of a jumper you shouldn’t let it charge at people.

Luckily not seen that particular dog again 😅

Yes, I have a dog and went to obedience classes with her, I was told you are responsible for your own dog. Even though Tia (my dog) is really good I keep her on the lead while running as can’t concentrate on her when running, fortunately as I always finish in the woods some way from home she gets her ‘off lead’ time then but never goes out of sight and comes when called.

Yes when I walk my son’s dog I’m very careful but she is just a ball of fluff! The dog in question was on a long leash but the owner was not in control! Shame as it spoiled that run and has made me a little nervy but it’s not stopping me running x
